What is American / European Truck Simulator?
Truck Simulator is a genre of realistic driving simulation games, with Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) and American Truck Simulator (ATS) being two of the most popular titles. Developed by SCS Software, these games place players behind the wheel of a big rig as they take on delivery jobs across vast, open-world maps based on real-world locations.
In ETS2, players drive through popular European cities, navigating highways, border crossings and rural roads. ATS offers a similar experience across the diverse landscapes of the United States, from California’s deserts to Colorado’s mountain passes. Each game features licensed truck models, detailed interiors, and authentic driving mechanics such as gear shifting, fuel management, and fatigue simulation.

How much RAM do I need for an ATS or ETS2 server?
For smaller convoys or lightly modded setups, 4–6GB of RAM is typically enough. If you plan to host large convoys, use map mods like ProMods, or run multiple plugins, we recommend 8GB or more to maintain smooth performance.
Can I choose between ATS and ETS2 after purchase?
Yes. When you purchase your server from RocketNode, you can switch between American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 directly in the panel. After setup, just go to the Settings tab and select your preferred game. The server will automatically adjust based on your selection.
How do I make my server private?
To make your server private, go to your RocketNode Game Panel, open the File Manager tab and navigate to container→.local→share→ETS2/ATS→server.config.sii and look for the password variable. Set any password you want and now, anyone trying to join your server will need to enter this password.
Does RocketNode support installing mods on my ATS or ETS2 server?
Yes. You can install compatible mods on your server by uploading them through the panel. For full instructions, refer to our helpdesk guide.
My server doesn't show up in the Convoy browser. What should I do?
It can take a few moments for your server to appear. If it still doesn't show:
- Ensure the server is running and properly configure
- Check that the correct game (ATS or ETS2) is selected
- Verify that your ports are open and no firewall is blocking the connection
- You can always use **Direct Connect** by entering the server IP and port manually.
How do I update my ATS or ETS2 server?
RocketNode servers support automatic updates. Make sure Auto Update is enabled in the panel. Your server will be updated the next time it restarts when a new game version is available.
What should I do if my server crashes or fails to start?
Crashes can be caused by unsupported mods, corrupted profiles, or misconfigured files. Check the Console Logs in your panel for error messages. If you're unsure how to resolve the issue, just open a support ticket—our team is available 24/7 to help you troubleshoot.
