What is Satisfactory?

Satisfactory is a first-person, open-world factory building game with a unique blend of exploration and automation. As an engineer for FICSIT Inc., you're sent to an alien planet with a mission: construct massive, automated factories to produce complex components for "Project Assembly."

Players must explore diverse biomes to find valuable resources, research new technologies to unlock advanced machinery, and design intricate networks of conveyor belts, pipes, and vehicles. Build towering multi-story factories, optimize production lines, and harness the planet's power sources. Whether you prefer to build solo or collaborate with friends in multiplayer, Satisfactory offers endless possibilities for creative engineering and logistical challenges.

With our Satisfactory server hosting, you can ensure a stable and high-performance environment for your co-op factory-building adventures, allowing you and your friends to focus on what matters most: achieving peak FICSIT efficiency!

How To Setup a Satisfactory Server Walkthrough

Step 1Purchase Your Satisfactory Hosting Plan

Visit RocketNode.com and choose Satisfactory Server Hosting. Select the amount of RAM based on your expected factory size and player count. Next, choose the server location that’s closest to your player base. You’ll then be asked to enter a Panel Name, this is required to continue. If you’d like to add any extra features, such as backups or upgrades, this is the time to do it. Once everything is set, proceed to checkout.

Step 2Access Your RocketNode Panel

After completing your purchase, you’ll receive an email with your RocketNode Game Panel login information. Follow the instructions to access your panel and locate your Satisfactory server. Once inside, you’re ready to begin configuration.

Step 3Claim Your Server In-Game

Satisfactory servers are claimed in-game, not in the panel. Here’s how:

  1. Launch Satisfactory.
  2. Go to the Server Manager tab.
  3. Enter your server’s IP and port (found in your RocketNode panel).
  4. You’ll see a message that the server is unclaimed.
  5. Choose a friendly name for your server and click Confirm.
After claiming the server, you’ll be prompted to set an Admin Password. This password gives access to server settings and save management in-game.

Step 4Set a Player Password (Optional – for Private Servers)

Once claimed, stay in the Server Manager tab and open Server Settings. Here, you can set a Player Password if you want your server to be private. Anyone joining the server will need to enter this password.

Step 5Create a New Game World

Still in the Server Manager, go to the Create Game tab. You’ll be asked to select one of the four starting zones:

  • Grass Fields
  • Rocky Desert
  • Northern Forest
  • Dune Desert
Once selected, press Create Game. When it’s done generating, just click Join Game to begin your factory adventure.

Step 6Manage and Join Your Server

Your server is now ready. From the Server Manager tab, you can:

  • Join the game world
  • Manage saves
  • Adjust settings and visibility
  • Download save files if needed
To join later, simply use the Join via IP option in the Server Manager using your RocketNode IP and port.

If you experience any issues, RocketNode’s 24/7 support team is always available.

Satisfactory Frequently Asked Questions

How much RAM do I need for a Satisfactory server?
For most players, 6GB of RAM is plenty to host a smooth Satisfactory experience. If you're planning a long-term save with large factories or heavy automation, 8GB is a safe upgrade. You’ll only need more than that if you're building mega-factories or running extended sessions with high player activity.
How do I join my Satisfactory server?
Once your server is running, open the in-game menu, go to Server Manager, and select Join via IP. You’ll need the IP address and port, both of which are available in your RocketNode Panel under the Overview tab.
Can I make my Satisfactory server private?
Yes. To make your server private, go in-game, open the Server Manager, select your server, and navigate to Server Settings. Here you’ll find the Player Password option. Setting a password will restrict access to only those who know it.

Note: This setting is managed in-game, not through the RocketNode panel.
How can I start a new save?
In-game, go to the Server Manager, select your server, then navigate to the Create Game tab. You’ll be prompted to choose one of four starting zones:
  • Grass Fields
  • Rocky Desert
  • Northern Forest
  • Dune Desert
Select your preferred zone and press Create Game. Once the world is generated, click Join Game to begin.
Can I back up my world or save progress?
Yes. To back up your save:
  1. Go to the Server Manager in-game.
  2. Select Manage Saves.
  3. Choose the save you want and click Download Save.
The file will be downloaded to your computer.

Save locations:
  • Windows: Press Windows + R, then enter:
    %appdata%\..\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames
  • Linux: Navigate to:
    ~/.config/Epic/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames
How do I update my Satisfactory server?
RocketNode supports automatic updates. Go to your Configuration tab and ensure Auto Update is enabled. Your server will automatically stay up to date after each restart.
Where are save files stored on my server?
Your save files are located in this directory via File Manager:
/FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/

You can upload, download, or replace saves here as needed.
Can I upload my single-player save to the server?
Yes. Find your single-player save on your PC (located at AppData\Local\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames) and upload it to /FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/ on your server via File Manager. Then set it as the active save in-game through the Server Manager.
Why can’t I see my Satisfactory server in the in-game list?
Satisfactory doesn’t have a public server browser. To join, players must use the Join via IP option in the Server Manager. You can find your IP and port in your RocketNode Panel under the Overview tab.
What should I do if my Satisfactory server won’t start?
This could be caused by a corrupted save, misconfiguration, or unsupported content. Start by checking the Console Logs in your RocketNode Panel for any errors. If you’re not sure how to fix the issue, just open a support ticket, our team is available 24/7 to assist you.

I have had a fantastic experience with RocketNode after moving my FiveM server from another large company that had constant drop outs.
