How To Install Plugins on Your Rust Server

Installing plugins on a Rust server can enhance your gameplay by adding new features and customizations. This guide provides a simple, step-by-step process to help you install and manage plugins efficiently, whether you're a novice or an experienced server administrator.
Finding Plugins
Most Rust plugins are free, but there are some that you’d have to pay for. Do not worry, to start your own Rust server it’s not mandatory to have premium plugins, it really depends on how you want to customize your server and what features to offer.

Installing a Plugin
- Log in to your RocketNode Panel account and the select the Rust server
- Turn OFF the server
- From the left side panel, go to File Manager
- Go to oxide/plugins and upload the plugin you want to install
- Go to the Console tab and start the server
Configuring a Plugin
After a plugin is uploaded and the server starts, a config file will be generated. In these config files you have different settings that you can change, related to the plugin that you just installed.
- Log in to your RocketNode Panel account and the select the Rust server
- From the left side panel, go to File Manager
- Go to oxide/config and open the folder of the plugin you want to edit
- Open the
.cfgfile. Make sure to press on the Save button after you are done - Go to the Console tab and type
oxide.reload [plugin_name] - The plugin will get reloaded and the new config applied
