How to Connect to a Minecraft Server

Find out how to play multiplayer with others.

In order to play on your Minecraft server, you have to connect to it. In this article you will learn how to Direct Connect to your server, add it to Favorites and the meaning of common errors when connecting to your Server.

Getting your Minecraft Server IP Address

  1. Go to RocketNode Panel and login to your account.
  2. Select your Minecraft Server.
  3. Copy the server’s address.

Direct Connecting to Your Server

  1. Start Minecraft on the same version as the server’s.
  2. Go to Multiplayer
  3. Click on Direct Connect and paste the server’s ip address, followed by the port.
  4. Press on the Join Server button.

Adding your Server to Favorites

  1. Start Minecraft on the same version as the server’s.
  2. Go to Multiplayer
  3. Click on Add Server
  4. Type a Server Name this way it will be easier for you to know what server that is.
  5. Paste the server’s IP address, followed by the port.
  6. Press on Done
  7. The server will now appear on the Server List and you can connect to it just by double clicking on it.
